Maureen (Kelly) Collins

Maureen E. “Kel” Collins, 72, of Lee, passed away peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center on Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Winter Solstice, with her loving daughter by her side.

Maureen was born in Pittsfield on August 26, 1953, to the late Michael J. Kelly and Philomena Forde Kelly. She attended schools in Lee and graduated from Lee High School with the class of 1971.

Maureen lived life to the rhythm of her own drum, guided by independence, quiet strength, and a generous heart. She will be remembered for her authenticity, compassion, and the lasting love she shared with those around her. Some of her most joyous times were spent in her earlier years swimming, biking, and spending Christmas with her daughter.

Maureen leaves behind her devoted daughter Erina Collins (Matt), who was her constant source of love and pride, and her brother Sean M. Kelly (Kathryn) along with family and friends who will miss her deeply.

Maureen departed on the Winter Solstice, a day when darkness turns toward light. May her spirit, like the returning sun, continue to illuminate the hearts of all who loved her.

Calling hours will be Monday, December 29th, from 4-6pm at Kelly Funeral Home in Lee, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 30th, at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church in Lee, MA. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery will follow.
