Michael LeRoy Gomes

Michael LeRoy Gomes, 68, of Lanesboro, died February 24th at his home.

Michael was born in Adams on June 4, 1953, the son of the late LeRoy and Margaret Frye Gomes. He was raised in New Ashford and moved to Lanesboro as a teenager. Michael was a graduate of Mt. Greylock Regional High School and went on to graduate from Lowell Technical Institute.

Michael married the former Nancy Zaccaria on December 8, 1978. Together they operated the Lanesboro Supermarket for 45 years.

Mr. Gomes was a real handyman and enjoyed working on various projects. He found great joy in helping his friends and family.

Besides his wife, Mr. Gomes leaves behind his brother, Mitch Gomes and his wife, Coleen, of Plattsburg, NY; a sister, Marcia Kerr, of Alabama; a brother-in-law, Michael Zaccaria, of Pittsfield; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Boino, of Pittsfield; and his nieces and nephews.

There are no formal services planned at this time.
