Myra Whalen, 79 of Stockbridge, MA passed away on Saturday July 23, 2022.
Born in Pittsfield on June 10, 1943, she was the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle Carr.
Myra graduated from Williams High School in Stockbridge. She was proud to have worked for nearly 25 years at Country Curtains in the Red Lion where she was the store manager for most of her career. She also spent countless hours at the Stockbridge Sportsman’s Club bartending and working hard with her husband and friends, who were all greatly involved there as well.
Weekends were often spent chasing down the next treasure and adding to her collections of Raggedy Ann or cow trinkets at local tag sales. Myra adored her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed spending the summer months in the breeze with a book or in the company of loved ones at the Cottage on Greenwater Pond. She enjoyed baking and made the most amazing apple dumplings. Myra had a special way of showing love and appreciation for those closest to her, which surely won’t be forgotten.
Myra is survived by her son Keith and his wife SooJa, grandchildren Isabelle and Brady and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who were considered family. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years Raymond “Skip”, son Craig, sisters Mildred, Shirley, and brothers Donald, Richard, and Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society in c/o Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St, Lee, MA 01238. A private service will be held at a later date.
