Norma Jean Plankey, 87, of Lee, passed away on June 11, 2022, at The Landings Laurel
Lake.
She was born in Pittsfield on June 22, 1934, to Warren A. and Madeline C. Fitzgerald Turner.
She was educated in the Lee schools and was a 1952 graduate of Lee High School.
She married Robert Plankey on June 23, 1956, at St. Mary's Church in Lee.
Mrs. Plankey worked for the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge and Country Curtains in Housatonic, where she retired in 2006.
She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, cooking, and baking her specialty cookies. She especially enjoyed the Red Sox, family get-togethers, butterflies, and watching her hummingbirds.
She leaves her children: Robert J. Plankey, Jr. and wife Donna, of Lee, Mary M. Kelly of Pittsfield, and James E. Plankey, and wife, Eva, of Elgin, IL; six grandchildren: Brandon and Tyler Plankey, Kimberly (James) Wilusz, Timothy (Tracie) Kelly, Susan (Eric), and Michael (Choi-Bai) Plankey; and seven great-grandchildren: Connor, Kyle, Paige, Teegan, Paisley, Abby, and Emma.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Plankey (2007), and siblings, John, Patricia, Marjorie, and Helen.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 10AM at St. Mary's Church, celebrated by Fr. Matthew Barone. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Lee Ambulance Service, in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
