Patrick Hickey Obituary

Patrick Gerard Hickey, 64, of Lee, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on July 16th, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on February 25, 1961, to Gerard and Madeline Bartini Hickey of Lee, Pat attended Lee High School and spent his summers working at High Lawn Farm until his graduation in 1979. That same year, he began his career in construction with RJ Nickerson, laying the foundation for decades of hard work and craftsmanship. He later co-founded The Renovators with Peter Digrigoli—a partnership that flourished into a respected company and enduring friendship, lasting many years and continuing until their recent retirements.

Pat was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He and his beloved wife, Leslie, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past February with a special trip to one of their favorite places—Puerto Rico. Pat took immense pride in his family and cherished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie (Briggs) Hickey; his children: Casey and Jennifer (Ashley) Hickey of Lee, MA; Sean Hickey of Boston, MA; and Sarah Hickey of Milton, MA; and his grandson, Hudson Patrick Hickey. He is also survived by his siblings: Jane (Hickey) Sparks of Lee, MA; William (Terry) Hickey of Halfmoon, NY; Terence (Victoria) Hickey of Southwick, MA; and Timothy Hickey of Becket, MA. Additional loved ones include his in-laws: his mother- and father-in-law, Mary and Philip Martino; Elizabeth and Keith Porter; Thomas and Pam Briggs; and Todd and Gail Briggs, all of Lee, MA; and Robin Martino and Mark Amaral of Tacoma Park, MD. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember Pat for his generosity, quiet strength, and sense of humor.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Brooke Hickey; his nephew, Shane Hickey; his brother-in-law, Eric Sparks; and his parents, Gerard and Madeline Hickey.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, 11AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In keeping with Pat’s wishes there are no calling hours.
