Paul Joseph Akey

Mr. Paul J. Akey, 70, of Pittsfield, died Monday, December 18, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Paul was born in Pittsfield August 16, 1953, the son of the Elmer and Josephine Puleri Akey. He was raised and educated in Lee. 
Paul worked at Joe’s Diner in Lee for over 30 years and at Misty Moonlight Diner in Pittsfield for 15 years, retiring in 2015.  He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his many pets over the years, and going to the casino with his mom.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, the former Deborah A. Tower, whom he married in 1986, his mother, Josephine Akey, of Lee, his uncle, Monk Puleri, and many treasured in-laws, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews who provide comfort and support.
Paul was predeceased by his father, Elmer, and his brother, Robert.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 27th, 10AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday, December 26th, 4-6PM at the Kelly Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in Paul’s memory to the Berkshire Humane Society.
