Raymond Choquette Obituary

Raymond A. Choquette, 79, of Lenox, formerly of Lee, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2021.

Ray was born on June 14, 1942, the son of Raymond A. and Evelyn Gillette Choquette.

In 1960, at the age of 17, Ray enlisted in the Marines serving until 1964 when he was honorably discharged at the rank of PFC. After his service he moved to Florida where he enjoyed race cars, whether it was driving them or working on them. Ray was a jack-of-all trades including furniture making. Eventually Ray moved back to the area and worked for K-Mart, from where he retired. Ray also enjoyed air shows, playing pool at Becks and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, motor-cross, horse shows, and bike races, where he was always a loud, positive supporter, cheering them on.

Besides his loving wife, Jeannette (Ford) Choquette, those left behind to cherish his memory are: his stepchildren: Cynthia (Tom) Fresia, Michael (Melissa) Scolforo, Monica Haraburda, and Christine Bona; his brother, Marc (Mimi) Choquette (niece Elyse) of Sun City, FL; his sister, Elaine (Bob) Edwards (niece Stacey (Jeff)) of Naples, FL; his sister-in-law, Sandy Choquette; his grandchildren: Andy and Charles Fresia, Jessica (John) Carrington, Brian (Tessa) Scolforo, Amelia (Tim) LeProvost, and Michael Bona; his great-granddaughter, Scarlet Rose; as well as many other beloved extended family members and friends.

Ray was predeceased by his brother, Richard Choquette; his sons-in-law: John Haraburda and Francis Bona; and his nephew, Mac Choquette.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29th from 9:30 – 11AM at the Kelly Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lee.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a donation in Ray’s memory may do so to the Lee Grid Iron, in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
