Rhodora LaFogg Obituary

Mrs. Rhodora F. LaFogg, 82, of Becket, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 with her family at her side.

She was born in Becket on May 23, 1940, the daughter of Albert and Ruth Cooley Dean. She was raised and educated locally.

Rhodora married Raymond A. LaFogg on August 22, 1959. Together they raised their family and ran Ray LaFogg Trucking and Excavating until they sold the business in 1997. Mr. LaFogg died in 2016.  Mrs. LaFogg was an avid crafter, enjoying needle work and wood crafting. In her earlier years, Mrs. LaFogg was a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader, and for many years, Mrs. LaFogg taught Sunday School at the Becket Federated Church.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include: her brother, Allen Dean, of Becket; two daughters: Rhodora Higgins and her husband, Thomas, of Becket and Janet LaFogg Newberry of Washington, MA; three grandchildren: Kenneth Newberry and his partner, ZaK, of Dalton, and Jessica Mullaly and her husband Cody of Dalton, and Joan Tegan, of Becket; and two great-grandchildren: Skyler and Milo. In addition she leaves behind her long-time best friend, Kathy Chandler.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October, 17, 2022, at 11AM at the North Becket Cemetery with Pastor William Mulholland, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in her memory to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
