Richard E. Jones, age 91, of Lee, Massachusetts, passed away on January 17, 2026.
Born on May 10, 1934, in Otis, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of Juliette Cardegno (Thomas) and her husband Michael Cardegno. He grew up in Otis and Stuyvesant, New York, where he developed a strong work ethic that would serve him throughout his life.
A long time meat cutter, Richard was known for his exceptional skills in the trade. He had a passion for the outdoors, particularly hunting—especially deer hunting—and fishing, activities that brought him joy and friendship.
Richard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a troop transport driver during the Korean War, exemplifying his dedication to his country.
He is survived by his three sons, Michael Jones (Lora) of Sherwood, AR, Robert Jones (Kimberly), and Scott Jones (Colleen); four beloved grandchildren, Monica Mace (Michael) of Ft Worth, TX, Morgan Scace (Matthew), Sean Jones of Ft Worth, TX, and Abigail Jones; three great-grandchildren, William Mace, Ella Mace, and Forrest Scace; his sister, Andrea Nolan (Cardegno); and several nieces and nephews. Richard is predeceased by his wife Dolores Jones (Salice), and sisters Dorthy Jones and Shirley Beauchaine (Jones).
A graveside funeral service will be held to celebrate Richard’s life on February 2nd at 11am at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in c/o the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
