Robert “Bucky” Briggs passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the age of 56 surrounded by his loved ones. Bucky was born on January 6, 1968 the son of Edward “Buddy” and Madeline Bartini Briggs. He was brought up as an avid outdoorsman and nature lover. Bucky was very charismatic, fun loving, and full of jokes at the drop of a hat.
During their thirty years together, Kristin and Bucky had an incredibly loving relationship while making friends wherever they went. They created a wonderful community with their business, Bucky’s Tavern at the center of it.
Bucky is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kristin Briggs; their two children Hunter and Hannah Briggs; his mother, Madeline Briggs; his four brothers, Edward “Cliffy” Briggs and his wife Jodi, Steve Briggs and his wife Christina, Tim Briggs and his wife Liz, and Scott Briggs and his wife Joyce; his brothers-in-law Michael and Dean Townsley and their wives Charlie and Gia; his eight nieces and nephews: Jordan and Connor Townsley, Cory and Casey Briggs, Clayson and TJ Briggs, Elsie Townsley and Ella Briggs. He is also survived by many lifelong friends who have many vivid memories of hunting, fishing, and just hanging out at Bucky’s.
Bucky is preceded in death by his father Edward “Buddy” Briggs as well as his mother and father-in-law George and Marilyn Townsley.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 18, 2024, 10AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. Visiting hours for Bucky will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 4 – 6PM at the Kelly Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Briggs Education Fund in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238 or at any Greylock Federal Credit Union Branch. Funds will be used to support Hannah and Hunter as they continue their education.
