With great sadness the family announces that Robert “Bob” Croze, Sr. passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 13, 2022.
He was born in Springfield, MA on April 22, 1943, son of the late Roland Croze and Adelaide Heath Croze. He was a graduate from Lee High School, class of “62”. Bob served in the Navy from 1964-1970. There after he completed a trade program in Sheet Metal Fabrication. He was a proud member of the American Legion and Sheet Metal Workers local Union # 63 retiring with many years of service from Harland B. Foster, Inc.
Bob was an avid sports follower which included the Red Sox, Mets and Bruins. He enjoyed playing scratch off tickets, meeting on Thursdays with his Cardio–Rehab friends and helping out and spending time with his family.
Mr. Croze is survived by his wife, the former Linda Pompi; his two daughters: Rhonda Ward (James Bryda), and Melissa Turner (David); and his son Robert Croze, Jr. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Cassandra Stoddard (Christopher), Brier Turner (Kayt), Cameron Turner and Dylan Turner as well as his two great-grandchildren: Owen Stoddard and Brooklyn Ann Turner. In addition, Bob leaves behind his brother, William “Billy” Croze (Rose); his brothers-in-law: Henry Pompi (Diane), and John Pompi (Margie); his sisters-in law: Patricia Eisenberg (Joseph), and Anne Lucey (John), and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his two brothers: Roland and Richard Ostrander; his nephews: Richie Jr. and Peter Ostrander; his mother and father-in-law Angelo and Assunta “Susie” Pompi; and his brothers and sisters-in-law: Evelyn Sachetti (Francis), Cortland Pompi (Yolanda), Gloria Salice (Richard), and Emma Dicenzo (Mariano).
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 18th, 10AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday evening from 4 until 6PM at the Kelly Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donation in his memory may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Shriner’s in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
