Roberta Loring Obituary

Roberta May Loring, 73, passed away at Berkshire Medical Center on August 14, 2022.

Roberta was born in Great Barrington on April 9, 1949, the daughter of Robert and Ethel Goewy Deane.

She was raised in Housatonic and was a graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School. On February 28, 1970, Roberta married Benjamin A. Loring. Mr. Loring died March 27, 2022.

Roberta and her husband were longtime residents of Otis and raised their family there. Throughout her life, besides raising her children, Roberta worked various jobs including at the former New Boston Nursing Home, Burger King, and the Housatonic Curtain Company. Mrs. Loring enjoyed working puzzles, knitting, animals, and getting together with her family and friends for coffee. However, spending time with her grandsons was most important to her.

Those left behind to cherish Roberta’s memory are her three children: Benjamin Loring, Jr., Robin Loring and Kelly Loring; her grandsons: Zachary Loring and Jarrett Dohn; and her sister, Myrna Marks.

Besides her parents and husband, Roberta was also predeceased by her brothers: John Deane, and Wallace, Ralph and Richard Reynolds.

In keeping with her wishes there will not be any formal services.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in her memory to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
