Rosemarie (Brown) Buffoni

Rosemarie Buffoni, 87, of Lois Street in Lee, died Thursday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born in Raphine, Virginia, the daughter of Howard and Vera Hyde Brown.  She moved to New Jersey as a child and graduated from Woodridge High School.  She then went to Hackensack School of Nursing where she received her RN Certificate.

Rosemarie moved to the Berkshires in 1973 and worked as a nurse at Berkshire Medical Center and a Social Worker at Mt. Greylock Nursing Home until retiring in 1998.

She was communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Lee and was an artist.

Rosemarie is survived by her husband, Lawrence Buffoni of Lee, whom she married in 1979; four sons: George Schaefer of Kinnelon, NJ, William Schaefer of  East Port, ME, Peter Schaefer of Cartersville, GA and Timothy Schaefer of Lee, MA; one brother: Howard Brown of Brick, NJ; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A liturgy of Christian Burial for Rosemarie will be held on Thursday, January 7th, at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be private for the family.  Friends wishing may make donations to St. Mary’s Church in c/o the Kelly Funeral Home  3 Main Street   Lee, MA   01238.
