Rosemary Allan, 98, of Sandisfield, passed away at home on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Rosemary was born in East Lee on November 8, 1924, the daughter of Charles Millard and Inza Emmond Harland. She was a 1942 graduate of Searles High School in Great Barrington. A lifelong Berkshire County resident, she lived in Sandisfield since 1946.
After high school, Rosemary served in the United States Womens Army Corp. She worked at the New Boston Nursing Home for over 40 years, retiring in 2001 at the age of 76.
Rosemary was an avid reader enjoyed trips to the casinos, scratch tickets and was a lifelong animal lover.
Besides her partner of over 50 years, Richard Mercure, Rosemary leaves behind her daughters: Debra Stanard and her husband, Richard; and Donna Funk. In addition, she leaves behind her grandchildren: Richard Stanard, Jr. and his wife, Denise, and Heather Brunnell and her husband, Brent; her great-children: Loren Stanard, Ryan Stanard, Ethan Brunell and Mirabel Brunell, as well as her grand dog, Muffin.
She was predeceased by brother, Donald B. Millard and her sister, Geraldine Wilson.
As per her wishes, her body has been donated to Tuft’s Medical School for educational purposes. There will be no services.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers and nurses with Hospice Care in the Berkshires.
