Scott Collins Obituary

Scott Robert Collins, 58, of Lenox, MA, passed away on November 3, 2025. He was brought into this world on a sunny, spring day, on March 1, 1967, by his parents, Edward Collins & Joyce Wilson. The first years of his life were filled with family, friends, and Nanook, the family pup.

Some of Scottie’s favorite things were Christmas, friends, skiing, baseball, kickball, and Boy Scouts. He started out in Cub Scouts and advanced to Life Scout. He was a member of “The Order of the Arrow.” Scott and his friends always went to see Benny Mardones when in town; and let’s not forget, the many all-night debates with his mom!

Scott was a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church, and a member of the BYF for many years. After he graduated from East Syracuse Minoa High School, he joined the Air Force and did several overseas tours before ending up at Griffiss Air Force Base as a radar technician. After leaving the Air Force, Scott went to work for an Environmental Oil Company and was soon promoted to a field manager working in Springfield, MA, where he met his future wife and life companion, Sharon Broske.

Scott moved to several more branch offices before ending up in North Carolina, where Scott married Sharon, and they welcomed their first child, Ben. Scott attended college in NC, and obtained two associates degrees. After college, he moved to Albany and worked for McLane Trucking. It was there they completed their family by welcoming a baby girl, Bridget.

Scottie always dreamed of owning his own business, so he and Sharon acquired Yankee & Tri-Town Septic in Lenox, MA. As the family business grew, he was able to enjoy watching his family assimilate into the company. Scott’s son, Ben, now runs a major part of the operation, with Bridget happily assisting wherever needed. Sharon is the heart of the corporate end.

Happy trails, Scott! You will be deeply missed and always remembered for your wonderful smile and ability to handle any situation that would arise. You always found time to help a friend, lend a helping hand, or have a spirited debate about politics. Rest in peace, our precious Scott. We will see you again in paradise.

Surviving, are his parents, Joyce & Edward Collins of Syracuse, his wife, Sharon Collins, daughter Bridget Collins, son Benjamin Collins, brother Steven Collins (Andy), brother Todd Collins (Heather), nephew Zachary, niece MacKenzie, father-in-law Joseph Broske, sister-in-law Karen McCarthy, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family wishes to thank all of Scott’s friends for their thoughts and prayers. A celebration of life gathering will take place in Syracuse at a later date.
