Scott D. MacWilliams

Scott Douglas MacWilliams, 73, of Lee, MA, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 3, 2026 in his home. Born in Pittsfield, MA on December 31, 1952, he was the son of the late Willard and Gladys Brundage MacWilliams.

Growing up in Lanesboro, Scott attended Lanesboro Elementary and Mt. Greylock Regional High School. Soon after graduating high school, Scott married his first wife, Laura Maffuccio, with whom he shares two daughters, Maggie MacWilliams and Kristy MacWilliams.

In Scott’s early twenties he began his lifetime career as a food salesman, employed by Crescent Creamery, Chardan Foods, Lewis Beef, and City Line Distributors. He retired from City Line at the age of 65. Throughout his 40+ year career, he made many close lifelong friends. While working at Lewis Beef, Scott met his second wife, the woman he’d marry over again a million times, the love of his life, his soulmate, Leanne Curran.

Scott and Leanne married in 1996 on a sailboat, off the coast of Naples Florida, with Scott’s mother, Gladys MacWilliams as witness. They celebrated their union a few months later at the Stockbridge Sportsman Club, where Scott was a past president, surrounded by family and friends. Scott, like his sisters, was an avid reader and an amazing cook. He loved music and dancing. He was also an outdoorsman through and through. He loved hunting and fishing, especially bow hunting, and just being out in nature. Scott also enjoyed gardening; he took special pride in his sunflowers.

Of all things, Scott loved being surrounded by his girls, his dog, and his friends. He loved hosting people at his home, dining out, and visiting with others. His most favorite time of year was his annual summer family vacation to Wells, ME with his wife, daughters, granddaughters, and his dog Frankie.

Scott, Scotty, Uncle Scotty, Grampie, Uncle-Grampie-Scotty, Dad, will be remembered for his, “Scotty-isms”, dry humor, bloopers and blunders, charismatic personality, generosity, and adoring love for his family and friends. He will be missed by all.

Scott is survived by his wife, Leanne Curran MacWilliams, daughters Maggie MacWilliams and Kristy MacWilliams, granddaughters, Jayde MacWilliams, Josslyn Rustay, and Harmony Casteel, brother David and wife Deborah MacWilliams, sister Margaret MacWilliams and husband Jeffrey Bell, brother-in-law Billy Mars, sister-in-law Susan and husband Marc Poirier, sister-in-law Catherine and husband Stephen Cloutier, brother-in-law John and wife Marybeth Curran, his dog Frankie, and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Susan MacWilliams, Kathryn MacWilliams and Kristy Mars, niece Sherry MacWilliams, and nephew Stephan Goranson.

A funeral service for Scott D. MacWilliams will be held on Friday, July 17, 10 a.m. at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, South Main St., Lanesboro, Massachusetts. Burial of his ashes will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Lanesboro. A celebration of life will follow at Zucchini’s Restaurant in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St, Lee, MA 01238, in his memory.
