Theresa Corbitt Obituary

Our beautiful mom, Theresa “Terri” DiGrigoli Corbitt, 92, of East Center St, Lee, passed peacefully in her sleep into God’s arms on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Our mom was born in Pittsfield, MA on March 8,1932, daughter of Carmello and Josephine Termini DiGrigoli.  She married her one true love, our dad, John “Buddy” Corbitt on November 3,1951, and they were happily married for 61 years.
Our mom was a graduate of Lee High School and was a member of St Mary, Mother of the Church in Lee and Incarnation Church in Florida.
Mom worked as a waitress at the former Lenox House for many years, she was involved with the United Cerebral Palsy Association for more than 20 years, and she was a receptionist at Suburban Medical for 16 years before she retired in 1987.  After her retirement, Mom and Dad moved to Sarasota, Florida where they enjoyed the beach, having friends over, playing cards, going to the movies, and ushering at the Asolo Theater.  Furthermore, it was no secret that Mom loved shopping, especially at her favorite store, Macy’s.
Mom and Dad came home every summer to be with their daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  They loved to spend time at their cottage on Goose Pond. Mom was well loved and will be greatly missed.
Our mom is survived by her three loving daughters: Chrissy Walker, Cindy Corbitt Giovine, and Kathy Corbitt (Greg).  She leaves her treasured grandchildren: Jonathan Walker, Stephanie Burtt (Chauncey), and Michael and Sara Giovine.  She also leaves behind her precious great grandchildren: Cameron and Chase Burtt, Giahbella, Gio, and Gemmah Giovine. In addition, she leaves her siblings: Kathy Hall (Bill), Pat Belba, Carmello DiGrigoli and her sister-in-law Joyce DiGrigoli.
Mom is predeceased by her husband John “Buddy” Corbitt, her sister Rose Ballato (Tony), her brothers Angelo (Sue), Benjamin, and Lou DiGrigoli, her son-in law Michael Giovine, her sisters-in-law Gloria DiGrigoli, Mary Corbitt Kelly (James), and her brother-in-law Sam Corbitt (Nita).
A funeral service for our cherished mom will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at St Mary, Mother of the Church in Lee at 11:00 a.m.  There will be no calling hours, and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Lee, United Cerebral Palsy of the Berkshires, Amedisys Home Health, or Hospice of the Berkshires in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
