Thomas J. Bush, 75, of Summer Street in Lee, died Thursday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in Pittsfield, MA on September 19, 1945, the son of James and Nancy Davenport Bush. He attended Lee schools and was a 1965 graduate of Lee High School.
Shortly after his high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Army serving until 1968 during the Vietnam War.
After his service he worked as a carpenter and then a pipe fitter for Southern Berkshire Welding. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Lee Sportsman’s Club.
Mr. Bush is survived by his two sons: Todd Bush, and his wife Jana, and Jason Bush, and his wife Sarah; one sister Carol Ferrero; five grandchildren: Travis, Owen, Bailey, Devin and Deacon. He is also survived by Marcia Coty Chernov, his mother in law Jeanette Coty and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents and three sisters: Joan Turner, Rosemary Hughes and Nancy Ditello.
A graveside service for Thomas Bush will be held on Tuesday, January 12th at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to Soldier On in c/o the Kelly Funeral Home 3 Main Street Lee, MA 01238.
