The family of Timothy Renn is saddened to announce his passing on July 30, 2020 at his home on Goose Pond in Tyringham, MA, where he was lovingly surrounded by his wife and three children.
Tim was born February 7, 1943 in Holyoke, MA. He grew up in the Rushville section of Springfield, MA. He attended Duggan Junior High, where he was part of the first graduating class. He graduated from Springfield Technical High School in 1961. He earned a BA at Western New England College, and a Masters in Education at Cambridge College.
Tim proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1965-1969 as a LORAN Electronic Technician on Marcus Island located in the Pacific Ocean.
Tim’s varied careers included: Salesman for Standard Electric Time in Pittsburgh, PA; Manager for Radio Shack in West Springfield, MA; and Project Manager for Hamilton Standard in Suffield, CT. However, his most rewarding career was as an Educator of Mathematics at Springfield Central High School in Springfield, MA until his retirement in 2012.
Tim had a passion for cooking for all friends and family, which was fostered from many summers between 1959-1969 as a Cook at Camp Bonnie Brae in East Otis, MA. Other interests included: reading; volunteering at Loaves & Fishes Kitchen in Springfield, MA; hunting; fishing; and blacksmithing. His greatest achievement was raising his family in Hampden, MA, where he was affectionately known as Papa. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years Rosemary Kramer Renn, daughter Brandy Kramer Elizabeth Renn of Beaufort, SC, daughter Autumn Hill Renn Gordon and John Huntington Gordon of Northampton, MA, and son Brewster Timothy Renn and Jessica Whitman Renn of Catonsville, MD. He adored his granddaughters - Greta, Olena, and Clara. He will be missed by many loving friends and extended family.
He is survived by his brothers Jeffrey Alexander Renn and Philip Brewster Renn. He is predeceased by his parents Elizabeth Hill Renn and Walter Betz Renn, and his granddaughter Ingrid Elizabeth Gordon.
