Timothy L. Stanton, of Monterey, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at his residence, just weeks after celebrating his 80th birthday.
Born in Pittsfield on September 8, 1944, he was the son of the late Perrin and Irene Stanton. Tim was educated in the Lee school system.
A lifelong mill worker, he retired from Schweitzer Paper Mill in Lee, as a millwright, after over 40 years of employment. He was also a member of the Tyringham Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
In his spare time, Tim enjoyed hunting, mainly for deer and elk, with his best friend Dave. He also loved all animals. Tim was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, always rooting them on. His biggest passion in life was his family. Family was of the utmost importance to Mr. Stanton.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife and best friend of 38 years, the former Louise Simmons, his daughter Shawna, and his sons Christopher (Molly) & Jeffrey. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and his beloved pug, Buttkiss. Tim was preceded in death by his sons Timothy Jr. and Todd, as well as his brothers.
Per his wishes, all services were private. In his honor, donations can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA.
