It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina E. Porrini on May 25, 2022. She was a funny and caring person who gifted her time to family and friends who deeply loved her. Her exceptional cooking was enjoyed every Sunday by her large family and friends. She enjoyed being the biggest fan at all of her grandchildren’s sporting events. Tina had a green thumb and loved gardening. She was always showing off her prized roses and poppies.
She was the daughter of Joseph and Maria Paoli and was born in Fos Sur Mer, France. She moved to the United States in 1950 and married Victor J. Porrini in 1951. Fluent in French and Italian, she had to teach herself English by listening to the radio.
She worked many years as an accomplished seamstress and cafeteria worker for Lee High School and St. Mary’s School. She was a member of the Lee Sons of Italy for many years.
Tina is survived by her son, Paul Porrini (Sheila); daughters: Arlette Webster (George), Denise Walker (David) and Michelle Buratto (Brian); and sister, Sylviane McIntyre (Robert). In addition, she leaves nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she adored.
Tina was pre-deceased by her husband Victor in 1996 and her sister, Etienette Mottarella and husband Dino.
Tina’s family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors at Fairview Hospital, Maryjane Scoco, Kelly Funeral Home, Father Brian, and her devoted caregivers, especially Crystal who was with her for many years.
There will be a graveside service and celebration of her life to follow for family and friends on July 8th, 2022 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lee.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Lee Middle and High School Art Department or the Lee High Gridiron in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
