It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Raymond Touhey, who peacefully left this world at his home on August 19, 2024, hand in hand with his son Sam after a long illness.
Bill’s journey began on May 14, 1946, in Pittsfield, MA, where he was welcomed into the world by his parents, Edward and Helen (Stone) Touhey. Bill was the second eldest of eight children, and was a 1964 St. Joseph’s High School graduate.
Bill was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, co-establishing Touhey’s Seafood Market, which was a staple on Main Street in Lee. His final endeavor was a successful janitorial cleaning company, Quality Plus, later known as First Quality Janitorial Services, Inc. He owned and operated the company with his wife, Donna, and son, Sam, for the past thirty-eight years. Bill also had broad artistic talents. He enjoyed painting, sketching, and playing his piano and guitars. He found serenity in helping others on their paths to sobriety, and was a friend of Bill W. for more than thirty years.
